Appalachian State University's Recreation Management program (RMA) is designed to prepare students to manage natural and cultural recreation resources in order to enhance the leisure experience. The program has a faculty of ten full-time and seven part-time professors with backgrounds and experiences that cover the entire spectrum of recreation. The 200+ students in the program lead a student organization, Recreation Management Association, which has won campus-wide recognition for service programs and fund raising.
